Naxos is the largest Cycladic Island in the Aegean Sea and offers enough diversity to accommodate visitors of all age groups and interests.
Whether you are visiting as a family with children, with your friends, or your significant other, you will surely find what you wish for in Naxos.
Thanks to its wild and remarkable beauty, its diverse landscape, spanning from majestic mountains, valleys, rivers to caves and sandy beaches full of sand dunes and cedar trees, there’s always something to explore.

Naxos has rich cultural heritage spanning from picturesque traditional villages hidden in the highlands of the highest mountain of the Cyclades, Mount Zas, to historical sites and ruins dating back to the ancient Greek times. The island is renowned for its traditional food.
The city of Naxos (Hora) is vibrant day and night throughout the summer months, with plenty of options in its bar scene. Its’ west coast is full of long sandy beaches emerging through reeds and sand dunes.
These features along with the great weather conditions make Naxos an ideal destination for wind and kite aficionados.

How to get to the island

Being a well-integrated destination, Naxos offers a number of  easy, cheap and fast alternatives when it comes to transport from and to the island.

1. By boat from the port of Piraeus.

There are four to five 4-hour itineraries departing daily from the port in the winter season  and 1-2 daily itineraries in the winter season. Ferry and high speed boats are the most common means of transportation to the Cycladic islands, especially if you’re planning to bring a car or bike. If you’re coming from abroad, you can take the X96 bus line from the airport to the port of Piraeus ( http://www.oasa.gr) at the cost of 5 Euros per person.

Alternatively, you can take the metro directly from the airport and arrive to the port much faster at the cost of 8 Euros per person.

Please be advised to book your tickets well in advance during the high season (end of July – end of August), as availability may be limited.

2. By airplane, from the international airport of Athens (Eleftherios Venizelos).

There are 1-4 flights on a daily basis, that can take you to Naxos in about 45 minutes. Please visit Olympicair.com for info and booking.
